2009 marks the 36th year the Green Mountain Wood Carvers have organized
our Annual Wood Carving Exhibit and Sale held in August at Peoples Academy
in Morrsiville Vermont. The exhibit is the third in a series of woodcarving
events planned each August. We begin the week with our annual 3 day class
on Tuesday through Thursday. Many members begin setting up for the show
Friday and Friday evening is our Annual Wood Carvers Banquet. We culminate
the week of activities with our Exhibit and Sale on Saturday.
Members exhibiting in the show come from all over new England, and cover
all aspects of wood carving, from caricature carving to wildfowl, birds
to Scandinavian flat plane carvings. The Show also has tables for vendors,
and other artisans working with wood products. Other wood carving clubs
are often represented including the New England Woodcarvers and Maine Woodcarvers.
Whether you are exhibiting or just attending we invite anyone interested
in woodcarving to attend our August Show.
